Mitigram Acquires eexpand to Strengthen Trade Finance Capabilities for Financial Institutions and SMEs

Acquisition overview

Mitigram’s acquisition of eexpand extends its platform beyond trade finance execution into trade intelligence and opportunity discovery, enabling financial institutions to support clients across the full international trade journey – from market exploration through to execution.

Stockholm, Sweden – 22 July 2026

Mitigram, a global platform for digital trade finance, today announced the acquisition of Export Enterprises SA, which operates eexpand – the trade intelligence platform supporting banks, corporates and trade organizations in international trade.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Paris, France, eexpand serves more than 50 banks including Lloyds Bank, Santander, Bank of China and Royal Bank of Canada, and supports a global community of over 700,000 registered businesses.

The acquisition builds on an established relationship between the two companies and reflects a shared view that growth in trade finance begins with growth in global trade. By combining trade intelligence, client engagement and financing capabilities, Mitigram aims to help businesses identify opportunities, understand markets and access the right support needed to expand internationally.

Mitigram is acquiring all of eexpand’s core assets, including Trade Pilot, Trade Club Connect and the Trade Resources Platform. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
eexpand’s capabilities sit at the front end of the trade journey. Its platform helps businesses identify export markets and connect with potential counterparties using international trade data, market intelligence and AI-driven matchmaking. Through APIs and white-labelled engagement solutions, banks and trade ecosystems use these capabilities to engage customers and support cross-border growth.
Combined with Mitigram’s digital trade finance platform, corporates can move from opportunity discovery and market understanding towards financing and execution, while financial institutions gain a powerful engine to grow their export trade finance business. eexpand helps banks generate demand by connecting them with companies expanding into new markets and providing verified counterparty intelligence. Mitigram adds the transactional layer that transforms demand into completed trade finance transactions.

“Through our existing relationship with eexpand, we have seen the value of its technology, data and customer relationships first-hand,” said Joshua Kroeker, CEO of Mitigram. “eexpand has built a strong position in an area of international trade that is fundamental to trade growth: helping banks and businesses identify growth opportunities, understand markets and connect with the right counterparties. We’re excited to welcome the eexpand team to Mitigram and integrate both their expertise and technology into our platform. Our priority now is continuity for customers and partners, while building these capabilities into Mitigram’s broader vision of a more connected trade ecosystem.”

Trade finance cannot be viewed in isolation from the wider trade journey. Financing becomes relevant when businesses are ready to act on growth opportunities. By combining eexpand’s trade intelligence and client engagement capabilities with Trade Technologies’ specialist trade services and Mitigram’s digital trade finance platform, the combined capabilities create a stronger link between trade growth and trade finance. Businesses can move seamlessly from identifying new market opportunities to securing finance and executing transactions, while banks can support customers from initial market exploration through to completed transactions.
